The Light Bead Curtain is an interactive musical installation that can be freely played by person's touch. The installation takes the form of a beaded curtain; strings of simple clear beads. Each bead, on a users touch, lights itself and emits a unique sound. People play with the curtain by weaving their hands through it, touching it with their faces, and moving through it with their body. An environment of light and sound is created when people engage with the curtain.
The Curtain will look similar to a normal beaded curtain - a form people are familiar with. The curtain's play mechanism - touching a bead to turn on or off a light and emit a sound - is very simple and direct. Users will be able to touch the curtain and easily understand how to play. This digitally re-created curtain, with its simple and direct nature, will give people a fresh look at everyday things. This simple application of digital technology will stir ones imagination and instill their everyday life with inspiration.
